Results of survey conducted by Mr Fung Pui-lam

(original version of 4 returns as received and submitted by Mr Fung)

Questionnaire on Hong Kong's future (1)

1. Should public opinion be consulted before the Sino-British talks

come to an agreement?

(i) Yes If yes, through what channels?

(ii) No

Reasons:

Answer: Since the Sino-British talks are held in confidence,

there is no use for public opinion either before or after the agreement. Without democracy, what is the use of talking?

2. What aspect of life are you most concerned about under the future

social system? Personally (give an example)

Answer: I'm most concerned about the lack of freedom, like a bird in a cage. Personally, I don't think I can adapt to the future social system.

3. If your lifestyle were changed by government policies, how would you

express your discontent?

Answer: I'll leave if possible. Expression of discontent will lead

to greater discontent all through one's life.

or express your opinions on changing these policies?

Answer: More people expressing their opinions will be good for mental

health. However, I am worried for those who speak too much. According to past experience, those who seek democracy do not have a good ending.

Questionnaire on Hong Kong's future (2)

1. Should public opinion be consulted before the Sino-British talks come

to an agreement?

(i) Yes

(ii) No

if yes, through what channels? Reasons:

Answer: This issue concerns Hongkong people; their views should

naturally be consulted. The best way is to hold a referendum.

2. What aspect of life are you most concerned about under the future social

system? Personally (give an example)

Answer: I am most concerned about personal freedom. If there is no

freedom after 1997, I would die rather than live.
