The Future of Hong Kong :
Opinion Poll
Further to my letter of 31 May 1984, I enclose reports of three opinion polls: one by the Hong Kong University Students' Union in February and one by pressure groups in Kwun Tong also in February, and the third in May by elected members of the Wanchai District Board.
In all three polls response rates were low. This may have biased the results. Moreover the questionnaire design and the sampling method of the first two surveys were far from satisfactory. The findings therefore need to be treated with some caution.
Copies of the reports and our comments on them have been circulated to Unofficials.
