Chapter 4:

Conclusions

The views of Southern District residents on Hong Kong's future, as revealed by the poll, were generally similar to those expressed by residents who attended the seminars on the same subject earlier on. The poll's findings can be simmarised as follows:

1.

Generally specking, Southern District residents have a high political awareness, as evidenced by the 80% return rate of a self-administered questionnaire,

2. Generally speaking, Southern District residents acknowledge China's covereignty over Hong Kong, but do not agree that China chould administer the territory directly.

Southern Mistrict residents favour Hongkong people tuliw Hong Kong', democratic elections and reintonos of the procent lifestyle.
