(2) of the 803 students who chose self-determination by
Hong Kong people, 383 advocated the return of sovereignty to the Chinese
Government, representing 47.7% of the no. of students "who answered this
question" or 16.1% of all "valid questionnaires". 420 respondents
objected to the return of sovereignty to the Chinese Government, account-
ing for 53.3% of students "who answered this question" or 17,6% of all
"valid questionnaires".
(3) Of the 124 students who chose validity of treaties an
their basis of consideration, 97 favoured the return of sovereignty to
the Chinese Government through the abrogation of the old treaties or
the signing of a new treaty between China and Britain, accounting for
78.2% of those "who answered this question" or 4.1% of all "valid
questionnaires".
27 opposed the idea, accounting for 21.8% of those "who
answered this question" or 1.1% of all "valid questionnaires".

(4) of the 2,380 respondents, about half, 1.0. 53.3% (1.1 0.
1.2 P+1.3 A), agreed that the sovereignty of Hong Kong belongs to
China or favoured the return of sovereignty to the Chinese Government
under the present circumstances. 447 objected to the return of
sovereignty to the Chinese Government or the return of sovereignty to
the Chinese Government through the abrogation of the old treaties or
signing a new treaty between China and Britain, representing 18.7% of
the "valid questionnaires" (1.2 Q + 1.3 B).
