MEETINGS OF ODK
1.
I spoke to Mr Iago in the Cabinet Office this morning. I said that we were fairly certain to need an ODK meeting in the week beginning 10 September, to deal among other things with the question of pensions. I explained however that since the Chancellor would not be back at work before 10 September, and this would probably be the first opportunity for the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary to meet with him, we should prefer to meet later in the week. Mr Iago said that he thought that the latest realistic date was 11 September, and that he
afteinson might easily have to fall back on theening of 10 September. He promised to do his best.
2.
OOK
I also said that we might conceivably need a meeting of ODK in the previous week to deal among other things with the question of undertakings. We could not however be certain of this until we had had an opportunity to discuss it with the Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary He promised to try to block off a time in the Prime Minister's diary during this week.
