X Aid
3. In November 1983 we gave £750,000 emergency grant
for the most urgent development needs, especially for police training, advice and equipment, and for water and electricity supply equipment. In February a £1M interest-free loan
was also announced. This is being used to finance further
electricity generating equipment, police station
rehabilitation, banana industry projects and community
development projects; priorities that had been agreed
with the Grenadian authorities. Recently given £25,000 towards furnishings for Parliament. We have three experts
assisting the police and during 1984/85 there were 14 new
training awards including 7 for police training in UK.
