I wrote to you on 6 October about the arrangements for Peter Williams to take over from me.

Peter arrives in this Branch on 2 January and takes over from me on 2 February. As I shall be handing over to him progressively I suggest that any correspondence

(including teleletters) which there may be on the future of Hong Kong should be addressed to him from now on rather than to me.
