I am writing in response to Andrew Colquhoun's letter of 29 February and to follow up our meeting of 2 March.
We are very grateful to you for agreeing to the budgets for Esperanza Durán's project on West European Policies towards Latin America and Trevor Taylor's on European Defence Cooperation, and particularly for allowing the first half payments to be counted against our allocation for 1982/83. I should now like to request these payments, namely £6,785 and £3,250 respect- ively a total of £10,035.
Under separate cover I am sending you the final texts of Trevor Taylor's paper and of William Wallace's on Britain's Bilateral Links with Western Europe. We hope to publish William Wallace's paper in June and, after some editing, Trevor Taylor's paper in September. The final expenditure for these projects was:

I should like to request payment of the outstanding balance for these two projects, totalling £8,540, from our 1983/84 allocation. Esperanza Durán's project will not be completed until the summer, so I intend to request the outstanding balance for that from our 1984/85 allocation.
