EXTENSION OF THE MANDATE OF DEPUTIES OF THE LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY

AND OF THE MEMBERS OF THE CONSULTATIVE COUNCIL OF THE TERRITORY

OF MACAO

After consulting the Council of the Revolution, as provided for under art. 306 n°2 and art. 169 of the Constitution, the Assembly

of the Republic decrees as follows:

Article 1

Articles 22, 24 and 44 of the Organic Statute of Macao, approved under Law n°1/76 of 17 February, should read as follows:

Article 22

1. The mandate of Deputies will have a duration of four

years, which can not be extended, to be counted as from the

beginning of the first legislative period.

2. The vacancies which may occur during the period of four years will be filled, by appointment or supplementary election,

as the case may be, within 60 days after the seats fall vanant,

except when the term of the mandate takes place within that

deadline.

3. In the case referred above, the deputies will remain in

office up to the end of

that same four year term.

Article 24

After the last 1 gislative session of the four year term, thë Legislative Assembly will carry on its works with all its

members until the confirmation of powers of the new members.

Article 44

1.

The Council comprises five members elected, three ex-officio

members and two members appointed, and they will serve a four
