(2) On production of such certificate to a court

such court shall stay any proceedings, whether civil

or criminal, except a charge under section 32 or

section 36 of the Crimes Ordinance, against such

witness for any act or thing done by him before that

time and revealed by his evidence and may, in its

discretion, award to such witness such expenses as he

may have been put to.

PART IV

OFFENCES AND PENALTIES

Any person who before the Council or any

committee intentionally gives a false answer to any

question material to the subject of inquiry which may

be put to him during the course of any examination

shall be guilty of an offence under section 31 of the

Crimes Ordinance and liable to the penalty prescribed

by that section for that offence.
