I attach copies of Peking telnos 1033 and 1034, containing a revised Chinese draft which has recently been presented to the Embassy. This is very similar to our draft presented to the Chinese on 12 August (Peking telnos 790 and 791, copies attached). I should be grateful to know as soon as possible if you, and other recipients of this minute, consider this latest draft to be acceptable.

I assume Hong Kong will also be commenting, particularly on paragraphs 7 and 11 of Peking telno 1033. I shall copy their comments to you as soon as we receive them.
