I have seen in general distribution Hong Kong telegram to FCO No 765 of 6 June and Peking telegram to FCO No 536 of 8 June, and they prompt me to remind you of paragraph 4 of my minute of 11 May.
2 It would help me to follow progress on this exercise if you would be kind enough to let me have:-
(i) any understanding or agreement which is at present in operation (Peking telegram No 536 refers to "the 1981 agreement");
(ii) the Embassy's draft for a new understanding or
agreement (said to be set out in Peking telegram to Hong Kong No 44;
(iii) the Chinese draft (said to be in Peking telegram
to Hong Kong No 49);
(iv) any relevant telegrams other than those mentioned
above;
(v) a brief account of the outcome of the consideration by Hong Kong, N&T and P&C departments of the points raised in my minute to you of 11 May.
