8(a) The only assessment for which we have recently had at

requirement, was on Hong Kong's economic and commercial value

to China. A good deal of economic data on Hong Kong itself

is readily available to us, but the assessment drew together

a number of strings and was particularly useful in the context

of Hong Kong's future.
