Parliamentary Contacts

The Secretary of State has seen a copy of your minute of 11 July to Mr Butler in the Parliamentary Unit attaching a list of MPs who are known to be interested in Hong Kong. The Secretary of State has commented that he would like the list scrutinised again with a view to identifying the dozen or so most active back benchers on Hong Kong issues, spelling out also their particular interests and concerns. I suspect that Sir Geoffrey will raise this at his next meeting with Ministers (timing uncertain). Would the Department be kind enough to see what can be done? The Secretary of State was struck in particular by the fact you had only marked four names with asterisks (ie Members who frequently displayed interest in the subject). Surely there are more than this?
