LINE FOR MR LUCE TO DRAW ON WITH THE PRESS ON ARRIVAL IN HONG KONG ON 24 SEPTEMBER
1. As you know I have only just arrived here after visits to Singapore and Brunei. I am looking forward very much to seeing as much of Hong Kong and meeting as many people as possible. I shall of course be discussing with the Governor and with EXCO the question of Hong Kong's future, and hearing from the Ambassador about the talks which were held in Peking on 22/23 September. I have not yet had a chance to assess these. The occasion for questions on the future will be when I see the press on 29 September.
