the University between the expatriate-staffed Political
Science Department and others working in allied fields.
The Professor does not appear to be held in high regard
outside the Department.

Comment : It is interesting that those invited
by the Chinese for this trip include some senior academics
not overtly associated with "political" affairs. The fact
that not only all their expenses but also those of their
companions are being paid is also significant.
