They are probably solely citizens of Mauritius
We understand that Mauritius does not object to its
citizens holding the passports of other countries. The Ilois
could therefore travel on either Mauritian or British passports.
-It is unlikely that any Ilois had sufficiently close connection
with the United Kingdom to have become a British citizen under
the 1981 Nationality Act. Only British citizens have an
automatic right of abode in the United Kingdom and therefore few
if any Ilois are likely to qualify.
