FALKLAND ISLANDS

A Bill introduced by Baroness Vickers to confer British

citizenship on the Falklanders was given a Third Reading in

the House of Commons on 11 March 1983 without amendment.

When it receives Royal Assent it will confer British citizen-

ship, and with it the right of abode in the United Kingdom,

of some 400 persons who would not otherwise acquire it.
