1. Your minute of 5 April calls for material on Dependent Territories which might be included in the Minister's winding-up speech on this debate. As we do not yet know the terms of the motion, nor

Mr Stanbrook's motives, you agreed that we should provide a background note on British Antarctic Territory from which portions could be used as necessary.

I attach such a background note. There are no particular points which we would wish to see included, other than for defensive purposes.
