This couple described the Prisoner to be a self-centred person who was often sensitive to criticism on his character. He disliked to be looked down upon and that was why he separated with his cohabitee when the latter could not tolerate his poverty and deviant behaviour.

Mr. LAU Ming, supervisor of Chi Sang Paper Products Co. Ltd.

Mr. LAU was the Prisoner's former supervisor of work in the Chi Sang Paper Products Co. and he confirmed the Prisoner's service in the company as a delivery hand on a lorry. During his 11⁄2 years of service, the Prisoner was not said to be an industrious worker as he had been absent from work for many times. At last he was advised to leave service due to his unsatisfactory performance.

F. INTERVIEW WITH THE PRISONER

The Prisoner was frank to reveal his offence of case as he said that he killed the deceased with a triangular file when the latter refused to pay him the interest of $200 on the loan of $5,000 for 2 weeks. He even blamed the deceased to be an aggressive person who initialed the struggle. He also boastfully revealed his past life style that had connection with drug trafficking and illegal money lending though at times he had proper jobs like working in the Chi Sang Paper Products Company and other places for some years before he committed the offence in question. He did not repent for his misdeed nor did he ask for leniency from His Excellency, The Governor.

She revealed that she came to Hong Kong with her young. daughter aged 9 from Mainland China for the burial of her son, the deceased of case. At present she had become a plastic factory worker, earning about $28 per day and this could not cover the living maintenance for her and her daughter as she had to pay the monthly rental of $540 for a small bedroom though her daughter requires no school fee. However, she had to give the monthly remittance of $250 Hong Kong Currency to the wife of the deceased and her 3 grand children aged between 7 and 3 who
