The said Petition for Special Leave to Appeal
was argued on the basis that the statement taken from
Your Petitioner by a police officer, Chan Man Nung
was true and correct which it is indeed. However, at
his trial, Your Petitioner had denied the truthfulness
of the statement. A copy of the English certified
translation of the said statement is attached hereto
and marked Exh. 2.

There is also attached to this Petition and
marked Exh. 3 a statement or reference by the Chief Pastor
of the Hong Kong Baptist Church, LU SIU HONG. Your
Petitioner is a baptist since birth.
However in his Church,
there is no Christianing ceremony in childhood, the Pastor
merely takes a child and blesses him. It is necessary
to be an adult before one can be baptised.
A few years
when Your Petitioner first reached manhood, he was very
busy, first with his work as an insurance broker, then
his work with the Nam Sum (Hong Kong) Company Ltd. (dealing
in oil) and finally with his post as Senior Sales
Representative of ACMY Company which is where he
first met the said deceased as a customer. It was for
these reasons that he omitted to be formally baptised
until overcome with remorse in prison as therein explained.

It was with this family background which the
Pastor describes so vividly in mind that Your Petitioner
thought it impossible to admit, as he should have done,
the basic accuracy of the version as recorded in this
