PRE CONGRESS ACTIVITIES
Prior to the Congress, the FID Conference will be held the week of 6th September. The schedule for the week is as follows:
FID/ET Workshop, Monday-Thursday, 6-9 September 1982
FID General Assembly, Friday (all day) and Saturday a.m., 10-11 September 1982
FID Committee Business Meetings, Monday- Saturday, 6-11 September 1982
CONGRESS VENUE
The Plenary Sessions of the Congress will be held at the Sheraton Hotel whilst the Special Interest Meetings will be held at the Polytechnic which is a fifteen minute walk from the Sheraton.
HOTELS
The venue for the Congress the Sheraton Hotel is located at the tip of the Kowloon Peninsula overlooking the harbour. All rooms are fully air-conditioned with private bathroom, colour TV, and refrigerator. The Hotel has a large shopping mall, a swimming pool, and many other facilities.
Arrangements have also been made for rooms in the nearby Park Hotel. All rooms are fully air- conditioned with private bathrooms.
Special rates are available to Congress participants if booking through the Congress Secretariat, these rates represent a saving of between 30% to 40% on normal
rates.

TRANSPORTATION TO HOTELS
Transportation from Kai Tak International Airport, Hong Kong to the Congress Hotels is available by hotel bus service or taxis. Each hotel has a stand in the arrival Hall located behind the Taxi Stands. The bus cost to the Sheraton Hotel is HK$25 per person. The bus cost to the Park Hotel is HK$15 per person.
ACCOMPANYING PERSONS PROGRAMME
During the week of the Congress a number of interesting tours and visits will be arranged by the Congress' Official Travel Agent, Swire Travel, and the Hong Kong Tourist Association will be available to offer advice. Delegates and spouses may opt for any or all of these events after arrival in Hong Kong.
