During my recent visit to Hong Kong I met representatives from the Asia Monitor Resource Centre and was impressed by the balanced views they had of the Colony's problems and the way these problems were being tackled.

I have just received a letter from the Centre regarding the case of Christine Vertucci. It appears that her employment agency extension has not been renewed. It is claimed that she has committed no offence and that therefore the decision not to renew her agency is a political one.

I would appreciate receiving what information you are able to give me on this case and in the meantime urge that her appeal is treated sympathetically.
