16.20.2 Responsibility for, and day to day work in connection with, Britains's participation in the SPC lies with the Pacific. Ties Department which normally corresponds direct with the Secretariat of the SPC (at Noumea, New Caledonia). Copies of communications are sent to the Alternate, who acts where necessary as the local contact and point of consultation with the SPC on behalf of FCO and of DTs in the region.
