The Kwun Tong Enquiry Service is fairly active on local social issues, largely involved with individual cases. Ms. Vertucci's involvement with the Serv ice, however, was not hitherto known to the Administration. She was not known to be concerned with the Yau Ma Tei boat people's case, though she did write two letters to the English language papers. It is a matter of opinion whether these two letters contributed to the subsequent revision of the Public Order Ordinance. In February 1979 she issued an open letter about the right to petition. reference to the Quaker office is correct. Following considerable enquiries the City District Officers, Yau Ma Tei and Kwun Tong have confirmed that if Ms. Vertucci was involved in any public issue at all she was worked behind the scenes because none of their liaison staff have come across her or remember her.
