registration. I would also like to know in which way the criteria used to assess applications for naturalization under Section 6(2) will differ from those for naturalization under Section 6(1),

The forms we now use for naturalization and registration are those contained in Diplomatic Service Procedure Volume 46 which are almost identical to those used by the Home Office in the United Kingdom. It is also very important that we should haye specimens of the forms which are to be used well before commencement so as to give Government printer enough time to produce the forms. I hope that the Home Office will let me see the draft of the Regulations and Orders in Councils that will be made under Section 41 of the Act.

It might be useful if the Home Office had some advance notice of the subjects that I propose to take up with them and for this reason, I am enclosing a copy of this letter in case you want to forward it to them.

Depending on which day the Home Office will see me

I should be most grateful if you could arrange for me to visit the Nationality and Treaty Department and Migration Visa Department on the other day. As I am going on leaye on 18 May, I would be obliged if the details of the arrangements were sent to

Alan Carter.
