Mr Ian Wrigglesworth (Teesside, Thornaby): To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs, when he expects the remaining Vietnamese refugees in Hong Kong to be resettled; and if he will make a statement.
It is not possible to predict when the remaining
Vietnamese refugees in Hong Kong will be resettled.
Because refugees continue to arrive in Hong Kong and
resettlement places are diminishing it is expected that
by the end of 1982 the refugee population will be
approximately the same as it was at the end of 1981.
