to build a nuclear power generating plant in Guangdong. A power station with a generating capacity of 500,000 kilowatts is being built in Shajiao, 40 kilometers from Dongguan County. Further small scale power stations will be built in the rural

ing units to promote courtesy and social ethics. The workers

from many enterprises are taking part in voluntary duties such as street and drain cleaning. The PLA units have also

responded by helping in the cleaning of the White Swan Guest House, a high class establishment which opened in the Autumn

of 1982, during the Chinese Export Commodities Fair. The

A worker employed by the Zhujiang Water Conservancy Commission in Shahe said the Commission was established in

October 1979 to take charge of water conservancy projects in the Zhujiang River basin. Over 1,000 workers are employed in the engineering design office, the development and research office and the housing office of the Commission.
