(a) LM 1642 a total of 37 refugees who arrived in Hong Kong on

4th May 1982. This group was provided with a sailing boat

by the Chinese authorities in Zhanjiang. The group consists of the whole of Departure Group (f), two from Departure Group (b), 14 from Departure Group (a) and one other (HA VAN LOI) who was sourced as an ECVII.

(e) L/M 1648 a group of 20 refugees who arrived in Hong Kong on

8th May 1982. The group is made up of three from Departure Group (a), 12 from Departure Group (b) and five from Departure Group (e). The Group was combined in Zhanjiang.

Only 95 of the 154 arrivals are accounted for in the claimed departure groups. Of the 64 who arrived on board L/M 1558, 56 are believed to have been combined from individual groups either in Macau or at a southern Chinese port and may include a number of ECVIIS, This group of 56 is at present housed in Kai Tak North Camp and was therefore not interviewed in the course of this investigation. Two arrivals on L/M 1562 cannot be accounted for, and according to source information one arrival on L/M 1642 is an ECVII,
