The airline annually carries over 3.1mn passengers and 86mn kgs of cargo and substantial quantities of mail.

The 25-city network covering 15 countries ranges from Tokyo and Seoul in the north to Perth and Sydney in the south, and westwards to Bahrain, Dubai and London.

As Hong Kong's own airline, Cathay is the colony's flag carrier but unlike most national carriers isn't state-subsidised.
