SUMMARY OF COST INFORMATION AVAILABLE TO FINANCIAL CONSULTANTS

April
Order of magnitude construction costs for civil
works. Figures may be a best estimate or presented
as a range. They will be based on subjective
judgement and experience of similar type projects.
The costs will be split down into categories.
preliminary list of these "Elements in the Cost
Summary" was made available to the Financial
Consultants.

Only the Civil Engineering Design
elements on the Summary list would be costed at this
stage.

Cost estimates provided in April should be regarded
as preliminary estimates only, subject to revision.
The remaining elements on the summary list, relating
to Master Plan studies, will be costed, and the
results made available to the Financial Consultants.
These will probably not need subsequent revision.
The design for the civil engineering works will be
frozen and a refinement of the preliminary costs
provided in April might then be possible, but this
would still not be a detailed resource based
estimate.

August
Work would be undertaken on producing resource based
final cost estimates. This would involve selection
of a scheme of work to implement the chosen design
