No secondary schools or hospitals are affected but one clinic and one child care centre lie on

the 30 NEF contour at Lau Fau Shan. There are no relevant programmed facilities with sites in the 25 or 30 NEF.

ECOLOGICAL SITES: Mai Po Marshes currently serves as a refuge for migratory birds and its ecological importance can be summarised as followsS

it contains the major mud-flat areas in Hong Kong; these provide a major food-source and roosting area for large number of waders and shorebirds.
