In both cases those living in permanent accom- modation are by far the most numerous but some 3,754 are in temporary accommodation under Scheme A and 4,801 under Scheme B.

In addition to the existing population, there are also certain committments. The development taking place at Fairview Park will produce 5,000 units which, with an assumed average household size of 4, will give a total popula- tion of 20,000 compared with the 9,000 popula- tion thought to be currently living there. Furthermore permission for development at very low densities (R4, which is equivalent to 80 persons per gross hectare) has been granted in principle on certain sites adjacent to Fairview Park which may be expected to house a further 3,000 residents. Altogether, therefore, a further 14,000 people will be living at sub- urban densities in the Fairview Park

area.
