The centreline of the final segment passes 800M south of the Chinese border, with slight encroachments by the northern edge of the approach path.

Missed Approach The preferred procedure: Climb straight ahead. At 4NM from the upwind end of the runway turn left to track 180°M to intercept radial 311° from Cheung Chau VOR climbing. After intercepting the radial continue climbing to 5,500 feet. This path carries the aircraft across the mid-bay line, as illustrated by the dashed line at Figure 2-3, and is designed to provide clearance of Lantau terrain enroute to Cheung Chau climbing at 24%. Al alternate procedure to minimize flight across the mid-bay line is somewhat tortuous and not recommended but is shown as the solid line at Figure 2-3: Climb straight ahead. 2 nm from the upwind end of the runway turn left to intercept radial 358° from LKC. Leave the VOR on radial 202° climbing to intercept radial 268° from Cheung Chau. Continue climbing to be at 5500 feet at Cheung Chau VOR.
At
Obstacle Clearance Heights of 200 feet Cat. I and 100 feet Cat. II should be possible.

APPROACHES TO RUNWAY D
Leave Cheung Chau VOR
Approach to Runway D from the Southwest on radial 268° descending to 5,500 feet. Not before 8NM range from the Cheung Chau DME continue descent to 3,000 feet. At 12 NM range of Cheung Chau DME turn right to track 358°M to join the localizer course. After intercepting the localizer course descend on the glide path to Decision Height.
Missed Approach
Comp
Climb straight ahead to join radial 257° from San Tin VOR. Follow the Starling Inlet or Tolo Harbour routes climbing.
Obstacle Clearance Heights of 200 feet Cat. I and 100 feet Cat. II should be possible.
A right turn at 2NM from the end of the runway for a missed approach route over the 'reservoir' would produce an OCH of 500 feet approximately.

Approaches to Runway D from the Northeast No acceptable approaches can be developed from the NE for this runway within
terms of reference.
