not to be able to see "United Effort" actually launched.
one can never trust the weather in this country. And it has
been especially bad this winter. I did enjoy the naming, however, and I hope the ship has a happy future.
I am afraid I still cannot give you a definite answer on the launching in Shanghai. As you know, I want to do it.
But I cannot make a firm commitment until a draft of the whole
programme for my visit is available, and until the Chinese
Government have had a chance to comment.
