Establishment of Tourist Ferry Services between Da Meisha
and Xiao Meisha and Hong Kong
1. The Da/Xiao Meisha-Hong Kong Ferry Services will start in 1983.
2. These services may be operated by vessels registered either in Guangdong or in Hong Kong
which have been authorised by the departments concerned of both sides.
3. These services are intended primarily for tourists travelling between the Da/Xiao
Meisha and Hong Kong
IV.
Regulation of the Shenzhen River
1. It is necessary to regulate the Shenzhen River with the aim of preventing pollution in
the river and draining flood water.
2. With regard to the prevention of pollution, the two sides will investigate separately
the sources of pollution on their respective sides of the river and in Deep Bay so as to provide
the competent authorities on each side with information for drawing up control regulations.
The competent authorities on each side will then coordinate appropriate action.
3. With regard to flood control, the two sides will conduct surveys and draw up a working plan.
The allocation of the engineering work will be decided by joint meetings of the relevant
working groups to be set up in accordance with paragraph VII below. The cost will be shared
equally by both sides.
V. Measures to Facilitate Crossings at Shenzhen (Lo Wu) and
Wenjindu (Man Kam To)
1. The two sides have agreed to examine the possibility of constructing a
new bridge
