AGREEMENT BETWEEN SHENZHEN
AND HONG KONG ON OPENING UP NEW
LINKS BETWEEN THE TWO SIDES
In order further to facilitate contacts between Shenzhen and Hong Kong sc as to promote
prosperity in the two places, a delegation from Hong Kong and a delegation from Shenzhen
have held discussions and have reached the following agreements in principle for opening
up new links between Shenzhen and Hong Kong.
I.
Construction of Huanggang-Luomazhou (Lok Ma Chau) Bridge
1. The financing, design and construction of the bridge, as well as its management after
completion will be worked out by reference to the Wenjindu (Man Kam To) Bridge, i. e. the
Shenzhen share will be 1/3 and the Hong Kong share, 2/3.
2. The surveying and design work will start before the end of June, 1982.
3. This bridge will be intended for use by vehicles, passengers and pedestrians from both
sides.
II.
Construction of the Shahe Bridge at Shatoujiao (Sha Tau Kok)
1. The financing, design and construction of this bridge and its management after
completion will be shared equally between the two sides.
2. The surveying and design work will start before the end of June 1982, and the
engineering work will start during the latter half of this year.
3. This bridge will be for use by vehicles, passengers and pedestrians from both sides.
