Your Excellency Mr Zhang Canming, Madame

Zhang, Ambassador, Ladies and Gentlemen.

It gives me great pleasure to receive you

here in the Ambassador's house to try to repay

at least in part the hospitality which my wife

and I, and my party, have received since our

arrival on Monday. And thank you, Ambassador

and Lady Cradock, for lending us your home for

this occasion.
