General review

Lands and Works Branch Technical Circulars Nos. 13-14 of 1982 issued..

Draft for the amendment of s.2 to provide a definition of "cavern" for oil storage purpose and for the amendment of the Building (Oil Storage) Regulations finalised. Final draft of the ExCo memorandum being prepared.

The compensation aspects of amending the Ordinance to give effect to the Code of Practice for Access for the Disabled to Buildings are still being examined by the Building Development Department. Preparation of drafting instructions commenced.

Draft for the amendment of Building (Planning) Regulations to minimise the risk of asphyxiation due to the use of gas water heaters in bathrooms in new buildings received from Legal Department for consideration.

Issue of further Technical Circulars as necessary.

Amendment bill and regulations to be put to Executive Council.

Preparation of drafting instructions.

Preparation and
