(b) Consideration is being given to widening the T.0.R. of the Working Party to be formed to review the financial assistance given by the Government to H.K. students in
overseas institutions SO that the Working Party could also consider how overseas education opportunities could be used to meet H.K.'s needs for tertiary education.
To revise the
T.O.R. and establish the Working Party accordingly.
Second Polytechnic
To establish a second polytechnic in Hong Kong.
HE has appointed a Planning Committee chaired by the Hon. Sir S.Y. Chung to be responsible for the initial planning work. The necessary legislation for the second polytechnic will be considered by this Planning Committee. The view of LDPC and the Planning Committee will be obtained before seeking ExCo's advice on the site for the institution.
