Purpose
To revise the legislation dealing with resumption of Crown land.
To introduce a new Order relating to the control of building heights to ensure the safety of aircraft using Kai Tak and of persons living under the flight path.
To ensure the adoption of uniform practices within the Lands & Works group of departments
General review
Progress Made & Present Position
Supplementary drafting instructions were issued and a third draft of the bill is now being circulated for comments.
A final draft of the ExCo memorandum is now being circulated.
Lands and Works Branch Technical Circulars Nos. 7-12 of 1982 issued.
Next Quarter Targets
To finalize the draft bill.
Submit the memorandum and draft Order to ExCo.
Issue of further Tech- nical Circulars as
necessary.
Drafting instruction for the amend- ment of s.2 to provide a definition of "cavern" for oil storage purpose and for the amendment of the Build- ing (Oil Storage) Regulations returned by Legal Department, for further consideration.
