Studies
(a) North Lantau

To make a conprehensive study of the development potential of various sub- regions in Hong Kong to provide the basic infor- mation on a comparable basis for the selection of a preferred develop- ment strategy.
Progress Made & Present Position
The special team established to guide the development of the land use/ transportation optimization (LUTO) model continued with its work as programmed.
Next Quarter Targets
LUTO team to complete its work on model development by September 1982, and to seek consultancy assistance for data production relating to Junk Bay, Ma On Shan and possibly, North Lantau.
(a) North Lantau
(i) The development of con-
ceptual planning pro- posals and detailed engineering studies have reached a concluding stage, ready for submis- sion as an interim report. (ii) Replacement airport at Chek Lap Kok: detailed civil engineering,
environmental, financial, meteorological and master plan studies are proceeding.
(iii) Consultancy studies on the
detailed design of the Lantau Fixed Crossing continuing.
(a) North Lantau
(i) LDPC to con-
sider interim report.
