Progress Made & Present Position
Next Quarter Targets
(c) The LUTO Model is processing
satisfactorily.
(d) LDPC has approved two reports
dealing with the methodology of the study.
(a) The Junk Bay Study was completed
during the quarter and its findings were strongly support by TFCC.
(b) The paper to LDPC prepared by L & W
Branch however emphasized the merits of holding up a decision on the scale of development so that Junk Bay could be a LUTO "variable". This view was accepted by LDPC. Since then, the C.S has directed that a memorandum be put to ExCo, requesting formal approval of Junk Bay as a New Town development.
(a) Prepare an ExCo paper
seeking approval for the provision of an MTR service to Junk Bay in anticipation of ultimate approval to proceed with the development to the recommended population of 300,000.
(b) Keep a watching brief on other problems arising as a result of the LDPC decision.
