Purpose
To re-formulate parking policy consistent with the proposals in the White Paper on Internal Transport Policy, and ExCo's views as expressed in 1981.

Next Quarter Targets
In November 1981, ExCo directed that certain aspects of the recommendations of the Working Group on Parking Policy should be followed up. In particular a land sales programme of parking sites for development by the private sector should be drawn up; park and ride facilities should be encouraged; and consideration given to the privatisation of the management of Government car parks. A paper on these matters was presented at the April TAC meeting. TAC asked for
future information on parking standards.
Subject to TAC advice, submit to ExCo.
