Mr. William Ross, Chief Superintendent of Police is in command of the Special Investigation Unit of CID HQ. He will state that the Unit was set up in August 1978 to investigate the procurement of males for homosexual purposes and that it was inevitable that in the course of their enquiries the names of many practising homosexuals would come to notice. One such was the deceased.

He will corroborate the events that led up to the decision to arrest the deceased and will confirm the telephone call he made to Mr. Trotman on 11th January, 1980.

Mr. TSANG Fan-tsun, a garment worker, Mr. PO Yau- * chuen, a plating worker and Mr. TSO Yuk-kwong will state that they have previously been interviewed by members of the Special Investigation Unit in connection with homosexuality involving an Inspector named John, and that statements have been taken. They will declare that those statements were true fact and that at no stage were they forced or intimidated nor were they tempted with advantages into making the statements.

Mr. Felix Muller, a Senior Inspector of Police will state that he lives in flat 310 B, 19, Homantin Hill Road which is directly underneath the flat of the deceased. He has known the deceased since October 1973. He will say that the last time he saw the deceased was on Thursday 10th January 1980 when he had a meal together with the deceased and the deceased's girl- friend in the Mexican Mess Tsim Sha Tsui. He will state that he knows the girlfriend's name only as Sally. At that time the deceased seemed very happy, laughed frequently and drank rather a lot of wine.

He will further state that on 14.1.80 he returned home at about 1900 hours went to sleep at about 0100 hours on 15.1.80 and did not wake till 1020 hours the same day. During the time that he was in his flat he did not hear anything, such as shots, in the deceased's flat.

Miss Sally Haddon, an Occupational Therapist will state that she met the deceased at Christmas in the Homantin Service Flats with some friends, Nick Angell and Matt Handley. After that occasion she saw him another two times, the last time being the 10th January when he took her to the Mexican Mess for dinner. Whilst there she met a man called Felix who was with another group. She will state that during dinner the deceased did not talk about anything that was worrying him and
