important is that the specific distribution of the residues on the

hands which may have been revealed as a result of swabbing would

have helped considerably to determine whether or not the injuries

were self-inflicted. On August 15, 1980 I visited flat 410B at

Homant in where I examined the bedroom and the other rooms in the

flat. The damage to the wall above the switch visible in the

photograph C3B had been repaired but evidence of the repair was

visible. This repair was approximately 5 feet above the floor.

On the same day I visited Kowloon City Police Station

where I examined the drawer in a unit stated to have been in the

flat 410B. The frame adjacent to the left hand side of the bottom

drawer showed evidence of a bullet strike. The size of the damage

to the unit was consistent with the dimensions of a .38 calibre

bullet. The damage was 16" above floor level and the angle it made

with the horizontal was between 15° to 20% The bullet which caused

this damage was travelling at a shallow angle to the vertical face

of the drawer.

On August 16 and 18, I examined the revolver RHKP 4894

and test fired it and examined the deceased's clothing together

with the fired bullets and cartridge cases from the body and the

flat. I have compared the bullets and cartridge cases obtained

from the test firings with the bullets from the body and the flat

and the cartridge cases remaining in the revolver.
