Explanatory Note

The Crimes (Amendment) Ordinance 1981 and

the Registration of Persons (Amendment) Ordinance 1981

make provision for the penalties that may be imposed

for forging identity cards and associated documents

and for possessing such forgeries. Consequently,

regulations 2 and 4 of these regulations remove from

the principal regulations references to forgery which

are now obsolete.
