REGULATIONS 1981

On 23rd June 1981, having considered memorandum XCC(81)71, the Council advised and the Acting Governor ordered:

(a)

(b)

that the Immigration (Amendment) (No, 3) Bill 1981, at Annex A to the memorandum, the Crimes (Amendment) Bill 1981 at Annex B and the Registration of Persons (Amendment) Bill 1981 at Annex C should be introduced into the Legislative Council, subject to further con- sideration being given to the proposal in paragraph 8(c) not to increase the penalty for the forgery of driving licence and to the proposal in paragraph 8(d) that penalties be introduced for non-compliance with section 5 of the Registration of Persons Ordinance; and

that the Registration of Persons (Amendment) Regulations 1981, at Annex D to the memorandum should be approved in principle to be submitted to Members to be made after the Registration of Persons (Amendment) Bill 1981 (at Annex C to the memorandum) has passed into law.

The Bill was passed by the Legislative Council on 22nd July 1981 and received the assent of the Acting Governor on 23rd July 1981.

Members will be asked to advise, under section 7 of the Registration of Persons Ordinance (Chapter 177), whether the Registration of Persons (Amendment) Regulations 1981 should be made,
