clause 4A

Add after clause 4 the following new clause

O

"Acquisition

by spouses who are citizens of the British Dependent Territories.

4A.

(1) Subject to subsection

(2), a citizen of the British Dependent

Territories who has been married to

a British citizen shall be entitled,

on application, to be registered as a

British citizen, whether or not he or

she is of full age or capacity.

(2) A person who has renounced

or has been deprived of citizenship

of the British Dependent Territories

under this Act shall not be entitled

to be registered as a British citizen

under this section but may be so

registered with the approval of the

Secretary of State.
