Staff for the two-year in-service course for kindergarten teachers have already been selected and are currently undergoing an intensive course of training conducted by an overseas specialist in the field.

THE NEW TRAINING INSTITUTE

3.20

To ensure that training for both kindergarten teachers and child care centre staff is provided in the most effective and economic manner, it is intended to create = new Training Institute by September 1984. The Institute will take over the training responsibilities described so far in this chapter. It is intended that it will be a well-equipped institution, and the courses for child care centre staff and kindergarten teachers will be co-ordinated with substantial parts of the courses being shared. It will be necessary to accelerate the training programme after the creation of this institution, in view of the shortfall indicated in

Chapter 9.
